Liquori Morelli
Founded in 1911 in the heart of the Valdera by Cavalier Leonello Morelli, the company began as an artisan liqueur workshop.
Deeply rooted in the Tuscan tradition, it has evolved over time, expanding its range and establishing itself internationally as well.
The headquarters of the Morelli Liquor Factory is located in via Garibaldi, in the center of Forcoli. In a short time, except for the period of wars, the commercial network grows. From North to South, Morelli spirits begin to delight the palate of Italians. The bottles with imaginative labels were chosen and created by Leonello himself, who demonstrated unusual advertising skills.
1950 - 1970
The Liquorificio Morelli already boasted a well-stocked catalog, with high-quality packaging and cutting-edge products. But not only that: the company was already structured. In the 60s and 70s, the Morelli company has 25 employees and is one of the main economic engines of Forcoli. Leonello even becomes Mayor of the Municipality of Palaia, of which Forcoli is a fraction. Meanwhile, the family is growing. His son Dante and his nephew Piero enter the company.
1975
Leonello Morelli dies. But already in the 80s Piero's children began to succeed. Luca, the oldest, then Paolo, finally, in the 90s, Marco. Leonello's great-grandchildren let themselves be infected by the passion of the family, and at the same time they enhance it, thanks to an entrepreneurial approach adapted to the times: more quality, more refinement in the image, accurate selection of customers. The national market expands, marketing begins on foreign markets. Morelli exports throughout Europe and reaches countries such as China and the United States.
2009
The big step: the Morelli company leaves its historic headquarters and inaugurates a new one, always near the historic center of Forcoli, 2 km away from the premises where Leonello began to build his entrepreneurial dream linked to the universe of spirits. Modernity and functionality are the watchwords that distinguish the new spaces: 1,300 square meters, in addition to production and storage spaces, also 300 square meters used as offices, tasting rooms, meeting rooms.
2011
Liquorificio Morelli turns 100 years old and celebrates by thanking those who contributed to making the company great. In front of the 100 candles, the wish is to conquer new goals and win new challenges.
2012
The first participation of the Morelli Liquor Factory in the Concours Mondial Spirits Selection de Bruxelles was an immediate success. The Morelli company conquers the most important competition in the world dedicated to wines and liqueurs, with three products presented to the jury, two gold medals and one silver. But the recognition doesn't end here.
2013 - 2016
Between 2013 and 2016, the Morelli distillery obtained important international recognition and consolidated its presence in the distillate market. In 2013, the "50 and 50 Barrique" grappa confirmed its prestige by winning a gold medal at a competition in Taiwan, where Italy stood out by winning 12 gold medals, two of which in Tuscany, including that of Morelli. This success has underlined the excellence of Italian distillates and in particular of Tuscan production. In 2016, the distillery continued to shine at the National Grappa Tasters Competition organized by ANAG, with the Centenario Grappa winning the title of Best Gold. Grappa 50/50 Riserva and Grappa Cru 98 Invecchiata have also obtained Silver Medal respectively, strengthening Morelli's reputation in the sector and contributing to the expansion of its influence in domestic and international markets.
2017
The Morelli Museum is born: 110 years of history that pulsate uninterruptedly, in the belly of a community that has linked itself to a company to the point of merging with it. At the Morelli Family Museum, every object continues to live a story that is pressing to be told.
2018 - 2019
Two new products come to life at Morelli's house: Limoncino DiVino and Botanical Gin! In addition, victories continue to be ringed: three gold medals in as many world competitions! The company becomes SRL and passes from a purely artisanal logic to a concept of structured commercial growth.
2020
It's the year of the pandemic. The company, in continuity with its previous management, does not stop even for a moment and is the first Italian liquor producer ready to use its infusions for the production of sanitizing alcoholic hand sprays with 70% alcohol. More than 100,000 bottles are produced and, in 3 months, the company donates these products to law enforcement, hospitals, nursing homes, in addition to embarking on a new business.
2021
The year of the restart, the last after-sets of the pandemic are ending, a strong expansion of trade abroad starts again; new customers arrive, new job increases and new premiums.
2022
The Amaro V° Era Is Born! It is a truly innovative product and in step with the times, the first Amaro in the World based on Gin. This product meets the demand of the Italian market, in the years when two products are depopulating more than all: Amaro and Gin. At the same time, we do not lose our artisanal inventiveness, creating a product never made before, which will be the leader for many of our other subsequent experiments.
2023
The Amaro V° Era wins the Gold Medal at the Concours Mondiale in Brussels, along with Arancino and Limoncino. The victory of our V° Era is particularly sweet, because it certifies at an international level this product that distinguishes and represents us so much.
